Ultra High-Speed Imaging Course: UK March 2021

Hands-on short course focused on experimentation techniques with energetic materials. Topics include detonation and shock wave physics properties/parameters measurable by ultra-high imaging, an overview of ultra-high-speed imaging methods and the limitations of the optoelectronic system (optics, detectors, data storage, and control components), lighting options, lens selection, triggering strategies, and comparisons with flash x-ray systems used for characterizing shape charges and explosively formed projectiles (EFP). Students work one-on-one with instructors on technical problems of ultra-high-speed framing and camera setups.
