Welcome to Tier III – Avalanche Mitigation. This course is self-paced and fully online. This course will overview different avalanche mitigation techniques, regulations, and safety procedures. Upon successful completion participants will receive a certificate. Topics include history, avalanche and snow science, mitigation methods with pros and cons, explosive selection, effects of snow properties, slope angle, charge shape and weight, and elevation, detonation physics, and more.
