Course Instructors: Petr Explosives Group is a private explosives training company based in Golden, Colorado. The company was founded by Dr. Vilem Petr, a former Colorado School of Mines professor with over 20 years of experience in explosive education, research, and industry.
Explosives Laws & Regulations Upon completion of the Tier II program, participants will obtain a fundamental understanding of federal and state explosives regulations. Attendees will also be able to apply for explosive permits and variances, communicate with fire departments and law enforcement agencies concerning magazine storage and quantity, and will be able to solve any regulatory issues with federal and state regulators.
Different State Regulations This course will overview regulations set in place by different states and highlight the similarities and differences. This knowledge is imperative for rapid advancement and new career opportunities and promotions. Their final written examination will demonstrate student learning. In addition, in-person lectures will have several guest speakers from government and explosives engineering industry experts.
Quizzes: Quizzes on material covered in lectures may be given at any time during the class to assess students/class comprehension
Student Presentations: Each student will choose a different state and present what regulations and laws are relevant to that particular state. Students are also expected to answer questions about their presentations.
Attendance: Regular class attendance and timely completion of assignments is required. Homework and assignments should be completed before moving on to the next lecture.
